Manchester High's Alumni team performed very well in the recent Alumni Tournament in Lauderhill, Florida. Our first game we lost 1-0 to KC, then tied ST GEORGES 0-0. The third game we won 1-0 over Calabar advancing to the quarterfinals where we beat Wolmers 1-0. We advanced to the semi-finals losing on penalties to eventual champions Ruseas. I've been told Calabar will be hosting a similar tournament in December, also in South Florida and hopefully we will also enter a competitive team. My club team trains every Thursday at Pine Island Park in Plantation, Florida at 8.30pm, and any MHS alumni that wants to train/run in preparation for that tournament and others is welcome. Just text me, Carey James (305-951-5498) around 7, at which time I'll know if the field is open (re: weather). Please pass on to others.

However, the girl’s team is on fire this year after losing only one (the first one) 4x800M Relay this year and copping the first MILO Junior Grand Prix in the process. The girl’s team includes Kimberley Brown, Neisha Morris, Charlene Brown and Natoya Goule on anchor. Manchester will compete in the 4x100M, 4x400M and the 4x800M in the girl’s section and the 4x100M in the boys section. All the girl’s team are expected to do well even if they do not all win gold. There is hope that the boys will give a good showing, as well. The boy’s team will be led by Brandon Tomlinson who copped the 100M title in the boys section of the inaugural MILO Junior Grand Prix. A Review of the MHS Social
The Manchester High School Alumni’s inaugural activity for this year, 2009 was a “Pool Lyme” planned and executed by the executive body of the Manchester High School Past Students Association (MHSPSA) Kingston Tertiary Chapter. This social was held at the University of the West Indies swimming pool on February 7, 2009. The event was scheduled to run in the time slot 4:00pm to 7:00pm but the time was later extended to 8:00pm.
