We would like to introduce you to the newly incorporated Manchester High School Alumni Association here in Florida. This Association has been operating in an official capacity since February 2008. We began as small group of four willing souls that embarked upon a task to lend a hand to our athletes at the Penn Relays through various Fundraisers and now, with more structure in our organization we host an Annual Jamboree Reunion and Soccer Tournament every February.
Our elected Officers are as follows:
- Janet Plummer-Brown - President
- Helena Josephs - Vice President
- Caroline Robinson - Secretary
- Chester Campbell - Treasurer
Our plans for the rest of this year include a Boat Ride in October 2009 and a networking Christmas event. Details will be posted.
Our goal and focus are to raise well-needed funds to help continue the fine tradition of excellence in education at Manchester High School, to assist with the development of the athletics program, and of course, the preservation of the school structure. We are also determined to foster and improve communication between all past students associations by supporting fundraiser and networking events here in Florida and abroad.
We are confident that we can make a difference in the 'future' of our alma mater Manchester High School and our beloved country, Jamaica. We are excited that we have made this connection and look forward to working with the community of Jamaican alumni associations in our future projects. Special thanks to Damion Simon, director of the Jamaica College Old Boys’ Association of Florida, Inc., for leading us in the right direction.
Janet Plummer-Brown (President)
